"It is important to remember the history and heritage of cricket, but also to develop new relationships and preserve the ‘spirit of cricket’ and we hope this will be achieved through the programme."

Runs on the Board & the grey fox trophy A celebration of over 50s cricket

‘Runs on the Board’ – an artists’ celebration of amateur cricket in Yorkshire – was conceived by Graham Roberts and commissioned by  imove, as a project for Yorkshire’s Cultural Olympiad 2012.

The Grey Fox Trophy, the  limited overs knock-out competition for over 50s sides, is an integral element, providing a focus for the artists’ attention.

In 2011 Runs on the Board commissioned photographer Anton Want and poet Andrew McMillan to produce a body of new work celebrating the character of over 50s cricket and the characters mad enough to still haul their creaking, brittle, bones out onto the pitch.

A perfect gift for anyone interested in Yorkshire Cricket or Over 50's CricketThe New Runs on the Board Book is available to order here.

In 2013 four artists: Lucy Carolan, Steve Toase, Nick Ahad and Jonny Walton have been commissioned to add new work to the Runs on the Board collection.
